My New BFF

My dad retired a few months ago and now he is my new BFF!  He loves to work hard and do projects and so do I!  We're a perfect pair!  So that's why I haven't blogged for a while!  We've been busy!  Our first project was to landscape my front planter area.  It has been bare for a few years.  We went and bought all of our sprinkler supplies and plants and came home to get to work.  When we dug down to plant a few shrubs, we ran into about 3 feet of concrete footing!!! CRAP!  Well, that didn't stop my dad, we started to sludge hammer it all out by hand!!!  It took two days and here is the picture of some of it in the wheelbarrow!
This cute little planter didn't have any sprinklers in it, so we had to dig under the sidewalk and connect the sprinkler system... that was a job!  

This is the finished project!  I love it! It's simple and cute!  I can't believe how hard it was!  It was so fun though and rewarding!  I love working with my dad!  He's awsome!  It reminds me of our old lawn mowin' days!  We laughed a lot even though we were both so sore the next day! (But we lied to each other and said we weren't!)
