Bailey is gettin' BIG!

Bailey is getting so BIG!!!  She is so cute and what the heck is up with me loving a dog?!!  I don't like dogs!!!  But I love her!  I took her on 2 little jogs around the block this week and she loved it!  I can't wait for her to get bigger so she can go on 10 milers with me and Aunt Tra!!

Baseboards are finally done!!!

So Dad and I FINALLY finished baseboards and let me say that this was NOT my favorite project!  I think I definately have ADHD because all the steps invovled were driving me CRAZY and I could not stay focused!!!  Not to mention that it took nearly 3 weeks to finish and my house has been a mess the whole time!  That about drives me over the edge!!!  But i must say that they look nice and I'm glad we did it!  BUT... those beautiful new white baseboards have done a really bad thing, they have made everything else look REALLY dirty! This is going to start a domino effect I can feel it!  Exhibit A:  Yucky, dirty door jams!
This is what the family room looked like with all of the stuff from the spare bedroom in it.  Everyday, my dad would come over and choose a room and move all the stuff to the center or out in the hall and then start making cuts. My job was to sand nail holes, fill with wood filler, re-sand, caulk, repaint those spots, and then put the room back together...I thought it would never end!!  It drove me nuts!!
But look... don't they look nice!
We even did a pretty good job on the corners!
Fortunately for dad, we had enough left to do his house!  Unfortunately for me, I get to help him!  Then we start on the Bowdens house!  I hope our next project is way more fun!

Our new family member.. BAILEY

My mom started a tradition when we were kids to help prolong Christmas morning...  Tracy and Kara and I have continued that tradtion with our families.  You take a ball of yarn for each child in the family and string it all over the family room (or whatever room you don't have your tree in).  After doing everyones ball of yarn, you have created a web throughout the whole room and then everyone races to roll theirs up first. The strings can lead to a hidden gift in the room for each person, or they can lead to one big family gift, or to a note that leads them on a scavenger hunt...My mom was always very creative!  Anyway, this year all of the strings at my house led right out the back door...
This little cute bundle is what they found!!!!!
They were sooooo surprised to find a cute little yellow lab pup!
Here is her cute little face that is soon to be HUGE!!  She is so cute!  She looks like a little bear cub!  She going to be my new running partner since Daryl will only be biking now after his knee surgery.  It's been fun but a little like a new baby!  Up at night and outside constantly to potty train her!  It will be worth it!

Christmas 2008!

Wow!  Christmas came and went so fast!  We had so much fun just like we always do!  I think the Horton clan can have fun doing just about anything! Enjoying all the family
activites and all the yummy food!   As usual I have the after Christmas blahs, I feel out of sorts not having a million things to do!  I always feel like this in January, but it's weird though because it's mixed with feelings of excitement and anticipation of what the new year will bring.  Anyway, here are some Christmas pics...

The kids waiting patiently on the stairs to come down, and Morgan with her new keyboard...

 Aly with her Ipod...

Nate with his new bike...

Tyler with her new barbie house! That "Santa" found at D.I. for twenty bucks and then doctered it up a bit with curtains and rugs and art for the walls!  Stylin' Barbie pad!  GO " Santa"!!!

SNOW???!!!

What in the SNOW in Las Vegas is going on around  here???!!! Wednesday, December 17, 2008I went to take trash out at about 8:30 at night and was amazed to see the street full of snow!! It had been snowing all day but not sticking... All the neighbors came out and we played until we were frozen!  Todd and Chuckie even brought out their 4 wheelers, but that was too cold for me! Check out my car!
